Gunner In Memory of "Gunner"

We got our German Shepherd from a rescue through the local pet shelter. We wanted a name that would show respect for his breed as well as make people think twice before getting out of the vehicle when we hollered his name. It took several weeks before we came up with "Gunner". Although he was big & had the typical look of a German Shepherd, he loved greeting people at their car door! We just passed away recently & have been looking for another Shepherd.

Fuzzy Wuzzy Mr. Fuzzy Wuzzy

This was my mother's dog and don't how she decided to name him after a children's' nursery rhythm. Mom rescued him twenty years ago. While working in her flower bed he appeared then ran to a neighbor's yard. She asked the if the dog belong to them. He did not, she grabbed the West Highland want to be and took him home. This dog was very loyal to my mother and would not let anyone near her unless he approved. It appeared the dog was grateful my mother rescued him. They had a bond that was quite strong and loved each other very much. Due his age and heart condition, it was time for him to cross the rainbow bridge to doggy heaven after my mother's 92nd birthday in March of this year.

We still feel his presence and block the bathroom door with my mother's walker so he will lay on the cold floor instead of his bed. Or look for him while I am cooking to drop him something to eat. The house is not the same and he is very much missed.

Yeti my snow pug

I have a white AKC pug. I didn't want a typical 'white' name, but I did want something to go with it. His registered name is Dar's Abominable Snow Pug, call name Yeti.

Sochi my silver medal.

I got my silver female during the olympics in Sochi Russia. One of the female hockey players is from our town here in Minnesota. They took the silver medal in those games, so in honor of the USA womens hockey team, my girl is named Dar's Silver Medal "Sochi"

Zombie Zombie the dog

We wanted our new dog to have a name that was interesting and we were thinking of cute monster or scary names like 'Ghostie' or 'vampire', but they all sounded weird. My sister was playing Minecraft and suggested 'Zombie' as a joke, but we all thought it sounded really cute. And that's how we found the name. So, basically just bainstorm until you find the name that you like, or until you find something that sounds good or interesting.

Harpo Backward name

Harpo was a black female Mini Schnauzer. My sister suggested Oprah but I hated it. She then suggested Harpo, Oprahs name backward. I loved it and named her Harpo! Everyone thought she was a boy named after Harpo Marx...but not so.

Pilot A Great name for a dog who is leader of his pack or yours :)

Pilot:

Piper The Piper

Have a rescue Scottie (1 of 2) named Bentley, but recently heard of an author with 1st name Piper. Thought it would be a good Scottie name because of pictures of them decked out in kilts n bagpipes, so goes with their background. Just like the name, too.

Arjay Arjay is an alternative to R.J.

My husband's initials are R.J.
We always wanted to have a family but weren't able to. The puppy will be the closest he will ever get to having a son. Naming him Arjay is a play on my husband's initials.
