Cooper		Cooper Chose Us :) I had the hardest time picking a name for my new pup. However, once the name came to me, I knew it was perfect for him. I own a gorgeous male German Shorthaired Pointer. I was originally thinking of bird dog/hunting dog names. I then had a flashback of one of my favorite childhood movies, 'Fox and the Hound'. Instantly thought, Copper!!! I always thought it was the cutest name for a hound pup. Although my pup is a hunting/sport breed, he doesn't have that "copper" tint/color, which instantly bummed me out and I revoked that option, because I didn't find it fitting for him since, he has a gorgeous spotted/ticked coat with a chocolate face and a chocolate saddleback patch on his back with an adorable chocolate dipped booty/tail. And then I continued to think a little harder on something possibly similar to "copper" that had the same cute and hound-pup ring to it. COOPER!!! That was it! The name popped in my head and stuck with me for the remainder of the day and was #1 on my little list of names for the baby. I arrive home from work and asked my boyfriend what names he came up with and he listed out a bunch of one syllable names that I really wasn't too excited about.. I told him I was thinking more of a two syllable name so the pup can pinpoint his name from simple one syllable commands like Sit, Stay, Come, Touch and such. After I explained to him my preference, I was grabbing my list from my purse and heard him shout from the back of the house "How about COOPER?" I stopped dead in my tracks, with the list in my hands, and I was in denial that I had just heard the name that I had been thinking of the entire day at work. I ran to the back room where he was calmly sitting on the bed and I replied "What in the WORLD made you think of that name!?" and he looked up at me confused and just simply replied "I don't know really.. It just came to my head and I liked it. Why?". At that moment, I shoved my list in his face and excitedly yelled "That's it! That's his name, baby!!! That was my #1 choice! And it chose you too!" That was it.. He's been Cooper ever since! And he is just the best pup EVER!! :)
Juxtapose (JUX) for short		Side By Side Juxtapose basically means parallel as in side by side, at least that's the way I looked at it. I got Jux a puppy, a massive 3 1/2 months of Rottweiler. I wanted a name that meant something to me, was unique and could be shortened up and had its own sound. Jux WAS my best friend and we kicked along for years--- side by side.
Pumba		Giving hope Pumba was on the side of the road in a box and it said free dog. It was so sad because you could see pumbas ribs. So I picked him up and put him in my car and took him to the vet and the vet. said he might not live to be 3(he was only 1year old) so then the vet asked me if I wanted to keep him and I said yes. I went straight to the store and searched for the most filling food I could find. I took him home and fed him a lot. He is now 5 years old and super healthy I am so happy that I could save pumba from all the pain that he could have been in. Pumba gave me hope,and I have him so much hope. I love pumba he is the greatest dog ever.
Kashi		sweet dog She was a Weimaraner. Kashi actually means "sweet tasting" & "lyric" in Japanese. I thought the name sounded kinda cool, and she was a 'sweet'heart from the beginning. It's easy to say & callout. It has the hard "K" consonant, which is said to be good for dogs to hear while training.
Reannon		The name that was meant to be Reannon was going to be my mom's dog, so I told her to pick a unique name..she recently lost her best friend who's nickname was ReRe..my mom knew I loved the Stevie nicks song Rhiannon, so she said lets name her that, but spell it with Reannon-it had the beginning of her friends nickname..what was very weird is that we had her name picked out before we got her..well her vet Dr. That released her was Dr. Steve A. Nickels
Katara		Trying to change a name When I got Katara, she was already named..my friend ended up telling me that her previous owners could not deal with a puppy, so he took her back..turns out the couple actually hurt her..anyway, my friend's sister lived the Avatar-the last air bender show..so she named her Katara..I got Katara on St. Patrick's day, so I thought of changing her name to patty, or Cali since she is a golden and I live in the golden state..I figured it would be easy since she was only 4 mths old..nope..she responded to Katara..so we kept it..now many people comment on her name.
Jessie		Name that fits When I first got Jessie, so many other names were popping in my head like Riely, Bella, etc.. I waited about 3 days to find the right name..I watched her personality..well she was devious and stubborn as the day is long..I was listening to music and Rick Springfields song Jessie's girl came on..I thought, that's it..she acts like the outlaw Jesse james, but a female version..plus being a red golden, she has the wild streak to her..she is 2 1/2 and still stubborn and mischievous..but I lover her..her twin sister is actually Katara..I got Jessie first then Katara.
Nikki		Not just a girls name Nikki is named after my favorite band Queensryche..I love their Operation Mindcrime album..the main character in that story is named Nikki..the character is a bad boy type, but you root for him anyway..Nikki is the only male I have..you might have noticed I posted 3 other dog names already..he is a yorkie with a big attitude..he has that I'll protect you no matter what walk..but he is a true love..a cuddler and kisser..just like the Nikki from the album, he is a bad boy, but will stand by you and love you til death.
Manhattan		When you feel homesick This is in remembrance of my first dog I owned on my very own..she would of been 10 today..she was taken much too soon (2 1/2 yrs ago)..I picked her name since I'm originally from Nj/Ny..I always loved going to Manhattan seeing the beautiful skyscrapers, the fast paced life..so since I recently moved to Cali, and was getting my first dog..plus alittle homesick, I chose Manhattan..little did I know she was actually coming to me from Ny..her name for her since she was the type of golden everyone wanted..beautiful blonde fur, and a majestic nose..her nickname was Manni mouse..her full name: Manhattan Brooklyn She was a special dog with a special name..she was also my seizure alert dog.
Spaz		My Dog Spaz He very energetic and the name just matched perfectly
